We are really excited to be celebrating our 70th year in our family business this year.
I am the third generation of photographer in my family starting with my Grandad Roy Offley, my Mum Alison Offley and now myself & my husband Ian work together, so it is truly a family business!
Like me, my grandad Roy Offley was passionate about photography, his journey started during WW2 where he was in the RAF serving in the mobile field photographic section until the end of the war. A short time after this Roy established his photography business ‘R. L. Offley – High Class Photography’. One of the oldest price lists we have of my grandads advertises ‘flashlight photography’ & ‘photographs hand coloured in oils’ and an emphasises on his aim in quality.
A love of photography is something that grandad passed on to my mother, Alison, who after working with her father for many years eventually took over the business in the 1980’s and became a renowned wedding photographer in the Ellesmere Port and Cheshire areas, photographing hundreds of happy weddings throughout the decades. In fact nine times out of ten when we tell people the name of our business the response is “your mum took our wedding photographs”!
25 years ago I started assisting my Mother at weddings in the days when cameras where loaded with film, I quickly graduated to photographing the reportage and candid style black and white photographs which were coming into fashion in the early noughties and was proudly featured in Cosmopolitan Brides. When I was studying photography I honed my technique of anticipating love, laughter and connection between people to capture those very special moments perfectly.
After seeing that Portraiture and studio photography was my passion, my husband Ian built & set up our first studio and working together in partnership established our photography business and so our journey began, carrying on the Offley Photography Mantle.
We offer a fantastic range of studio & location photography for people, pets & businesses. Modern in style but with great family values, where quality is always at the forefront of our minds.
Carrying on the Tradition
We hope that Roy would approve of how we’ve continued the family tradition of photography with the emphasis on quality.
Of course things have changed a lot since the Roy first used his camera, everything has gone digital and there are 100’s of never looked at again images for the single one that Roy would have taken.
For this reason more now than ever before it’s so important to stand out from the crowd with professional portrait photography.
We hope you enjoyed our story, and look forward to hearing from you soon.
